Benj Pasek is a composer, lyricist, singer and also created Dear Evan Hansen. He also wrote and styled all of the songs in the musical. He and his partner, Justin Paul, also worked on other musicals in the past, such as A Christmas Story, The Musical, Dogflight; they also worked on movies such as, La La Land, Trolls, and The Greatest Showman.
He currently lives in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States as of now.

Benj was first seen on the Dear Evan Hansen official YouTube channel. This will be the first video that will ever feature Benj and Justin at the time. They continue to rehearsal for the first performance. On November 4th, 2016, a video was released where the two talk about the song, Waving Through a Window and the story about the song. And they also talk about the musical's story itself.

For the first time the show was on Broadway, it was a huge event for the two. Benj and Justin were excited for the show to finally be on Broadway, and they were also happy to have such an amazing cast for the show.
